Revelation 18:4-8

⁴Then I heard another voice from heaven say:

so that you will not share in her sins,

Jeremiah 50:14-15

John 16:13-15

¹³“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. ¹⁴He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. ¹⁵All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Without the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, filling our temples, it is impossible to stay on the narrow path. But with God all things are possible.

In the same way an airplane pilot depends on a navigator to correct course to adjust for wind, we must rely on the Holy Spirt to adjust our course due to sin and temptation.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

¹But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. ²People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, ⁴treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— ⁵having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Proverbs 28:4-6

The only thing for certain that every human being who has ever lived has to offer God is their time. Do we tithe a tenth of our time? We must offer our time before we offer anything, else we are no different than the Pharisees.

How do we worship God? How do we worship anything? Be aware —beware— the time we spend adoring false idols instead of God does not go unnoticed.

Psalm 90:4, 90:12

as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!
Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,
“You did not make me”?
Can the pot say to the potter,
“You know nothing”?

Isaiah 55:8-9

⁸“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
⁹“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

John 15:10

“If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.”

The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13) does not mention a seed being planted in a pot with fresh soil. But seeds planted this way spring up quickly and grow nicely as long as they get plenty of water, sunlight and fresh air each day.

But if the growing plant remains inside the smaller pot in which is was originally planted, it will struggle as it continues to grow — fighting against the container itself which has not grown.

Our bodies (pots) are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Let us be mindful to never grieve the Holy Spirit dwelling inside us by being unwilling to change our ‘pot’ — our physical body, our physical lifestyle. Let us instead willingly and joyfully embrace whatever physical changes the Holy Spirit is showing us we need to make in our lives, so that we may continue to grow spiritually.

Ephesians 4:30

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

John 15:5
